The U.S. Congress has appropriated $4.7 billion to establish a Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) for awards to eligible entities to develop and expand broadband services to rural and underserved areas and improve access to broadband by public safety agencies. This TIG session will provide information about Ohio's BTOP grant application made in August 2009 and will explore how federal BTOP funding may be available for legal services broadband initiatives. In addition, there will be an overview of some alternative technology funding sources beyond IOLTA and LSC.
