The next Disability Rights Consortium will take place on Wednesday April 25th from 9:30-11:00 at Equip for Equality (20 North Michigan, Suite 300). Our topic this month will be Employment First, which is a national effort to ensure that employment in the general workforce is the first and preferred option for working age adults with disabilities receiving publicly funded services. 

Our speakers will be:

Marsie Frawley from Griffin-Hammis Associates, who will provide an overview of Employment First and the recent Summit in Springfield.

Cathy Ficker Terrill from the Institute on Public Policy for People with Disabilities who will discuss the recommendations of the Governor's Task Force on Employment of People with Disabilities and federal legislation to eliminate the sub-minimum wage.

Kim Zoeller from Ray Graham Association who will discus the work of the Alliance for Full Participation and innovative practices in employment.
