 Registration is now open for LAF's free Pro Se Bankruptcy Clinic. The clinic operates every month. The next sessions are December 12 & 19.

The pro se clinic is for clients who want to file a simple Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

There are two classes a week apart. Each class has a group session and individual meetings where you can talk privately with an attorney. Call 312-431-2231 to register for the next available classes.

At the first group session you will learn what bankruptcy can and can't do for you, how to fill out the forms and you will receive a packet containing the official forms, detailed instructions on how to fill them out and sample forms. Before you leave you will meet with an attorney who will answer specific questions you have about your case. At the second individual meeting the attorney will review the forms that you have filled out and will help you make any corrections that are needed. The final group session covers how to file bankruptcy and how to get your discharge.

Clients must be Cook County residents who are either low income or elderly.
