Founded in 1981, the Chicago Legal Clinic, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit legal service organization. The Clinic provides low-cost legal services (sliding fee scale) to individuals in the Chicago area from its four neighborhood offices: South Chicago, Austin, Downtown and Pilsen. The Clinic offers representation in various areas of law, including: family law (divorce, adoption, visitation, paternity, etc.), aid to victims of domestic violence, guardianships of minors and adults, social security disability claims, decedent’s estates, real estate closings, landlord/tenant disputes, immigration, and environmental law. There are no income eligibility or case type restrictions. Clients are charged on a sliding scale based on their ability to pay. The Clinic provides free legal seminars on topics of community interest in churches, schools and civic organizations.
