The Honorable Dorothy Brown, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, is hosting the annual Expungement Summit on Saturday, June 5, 2010. Each year, the Expungement Summit has been a great success in helping individuals expunge or seal their criminal records, and we cannot do this without the help of volunteer attorneys. Please help us spread the word and recruit attorneys by reaching out to your Association members. No prior experience is necessary.

Volunteer attorneys will attend a mandatory training course, for which they will earn up to 3.0 hrs of FREE MCLE credits. MCLE credit is only available for attorneys who attend these trainings in person. Attorneys will learn about adult and juvenile expungement and sealing laws and how to assist in completion of relevant court forms. Attorneys will also learn about Executive Clemency/pardons, Identity Theft Petitions, Certificates of Innocence, Certificate of Good Conducts, and Certificates of Relief from Disabilities. The attorney training for the Expungement Summit will be on the following dates:

- Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 69 W. Washington, 17th Floor, Chicago, Illinois 60602.

- Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 69 W. Washington, 17th Floor, Chicago, Illinois 60602.

- Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 69 W. Washington, 17th Floor, Chicago, Illinois 60602.
